stuff worth sharing

Community.
Ryan and I accidentally-on-purpose forgot to cancel our free trial to Hulu plus. But we're only keeping it for one month. For reals. (If we could just get internet in our apartment building, and not have to get internet and cable, we would keep it forever.) Annnnyways, through Hulu plus, we've discovered our love for 'Community.'
We'd both heard about the show, but never took the time to actually watch it. Turns out that was a mistake because the show is hilarious. It's no 'New Girl' but it actually has me laughing out loud at points, which is a rare find in a tv show.
I think I never gave it a chance because of a.) Joel Mchale and b.) the title. I don't really like Joel Mchale, but he actually is kind of perfect for this role. So kudos to you, Mr. Casting Director. And the title? Well, I thought it was just going to be a second-rate 'Parks and Rec' wanna-be, but it's actually about community college. And all the characters are so spot on, it's hilarious.
Oh, Pierce!
Chevy Chase is just an added bonus of absolute comedic perfection. He plays his character so well.

Flea Market Finds
Ooooo baby, did I get some good stuff at the flea market today! This was actually the first time I was happy my friend Beth (who moved back home to Michigan in December) wasn't with me...because I would have spent a lot of money. Ryan was my shopping buddy today and after I spent $22 he said, "Okay. Let's get you out of here before you spend all our money."
Here's what that $22 went to...
A globe! We have one globe and I love it so much that I kind of always keep my eyes peeled for globes. I really like that it has the "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics", "Czechoslovakia", "French West Africa"and "Tanganyika"on it.

Typewriter Keys. I'm loving the "Floating Shift" (As will my mom, I'm sure.)

And now.
For the most ultimate flea market find ever...

I know what you're thinking. "I didn't see that right. It can't be..."
But oh, it can be, my dear friends. It can be.
And it is. Real Polaroid film.
The film alone is going for about $60 on amazon. And guess how much I paid for the film, camera and bag?  Oh, just $7.00. A MEASLY SEVEN DOLLARS.
The more I think about it, the more I feel bad because I straight-up ripped that lady off. I should have told her she was sitting on gold. I guess that's what you get for having the gift of mercy. Gosh darn you, Nancy, and your compassionate heart!

I've actually been meaning to post about Polaroid film for a while because my younger sister Julie surprised me with an awesome present of The Impossible Project film, (which I'm assuming she got the idea from this post.) The Impossible Project is group of people who studied Polaroid film and the chemicals that make it work and eventually learned how to recreate the film. It runs for about $30 a pack, but that's much better than $60-$100!! I was just waiting to share about it until I had taken a few more awesome pictures :) So now I'll just post the pics when I finish the pack. So far...they rock! So thanks again, Julie!
